Biography

Dr. Sangeeta Pahwa completed her MBBS (1995) from Sardar Patel Medical College Bikaner and MS (1998) in Obstetrics and Gynecology from SMS Medical College Jaipur. She was awarded first prize in paper presentation at Kota during her post-graduation. Presently she is Professor and Head of Obs and Gyne department at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Amritsar, Punjab, India.

She has supervised and Co-supervised the thesis work of Obs-Gyne and Radiology postgraduate students and has also done thesis evaluation of postgraduates from other universities. She has also been appointed as external examiner in UGs and PGs examinations.

Dr Sangeeta has delivered various lectures on topics of paramount importance to public health. She chaired and panelled various sessions in Obs-Gyne, Pediatrics as well as Radiology conferences and attended various CMEs and workshops. She did training in infertility, IUI, Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.

Among scientific presentations, her poster was awarded second prize in International Women’s Health Summit at Delhi in 2018 and was awarded first prize in poster on Importance of Genetic counselling in osteogenesis imperfecta along with genetics department in Punjab Science Congress, 2020. She has 30 International publications in indexed journals. She is lifetime member of FOGSI and international journal of gynaecological Plastic surgery.

Her special field of interest is endoscopic surgery, interventional radiology related to obs-gyne and IVF.
